Elders' Corner - 'I Will Provide for You and Your Children' (08/16/2006)

childrenThis ministry would be integrated into our new church building design. This idea had the overwhelming support of the congregation as confirmed by a survey of the congregation.

We have now graduated more than 50 children from this ministry which serves children from 6 weeks to Pre-K with full time child care. We also now have successful programs for pre-school, K-5 before and after school care, and a summer school age program. The before and after school program safely transports children to and from school, an invaluable service to our community. We now care for over 100 children daily at our peak. We have a wonderful Christian lady that serves wholesome hot meals each and every day from our vast church kitchen. This ministry in many ways gave birth to our current Christian school study.

More important than the safe Christian environment we try to nurture for these precious children, are the daily prayers and Bible stories in which each child partakes. In addition, they attend chapel twice a week where they pray, hear inspiring stories from the Bible, personal stories from Brothers Steve and Brian, and sing uplifting songs of praise to God. We have been blessed by four fine Directors that have each taken the center to new levels of excellence while maintaining the highest rating from Tennessee's Three Star Agency. Our center is recognized as one of the finest in Clarksville, and our parents will gladly tell you as much.

This past Sunday following Jay Tucker's recent appointment as an elder, he submitted his resignation as President of Hilldale Christian Child Care Center and asked the board of directors to immediately appoint Brother Lance Carpenter as the new President. Jay plans to remain for a time the chairman of the board. Over the years, many of you know this ministry has been faced with much adversity. For a period of time the church subsidized the program financially, but more importantly many of you have prayed that it would succeed.

Today, the child care ministry is financially sound and on mission. Please continue to pray for Brother Lance, the board, the staff and each family we serve. In the Bible, when Joseph’s brothers needed forgiveness and reassurance he said to them, “‘don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don't be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.’ And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.” Genesis 50:19-21 “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” I John 4:4 MAY GOD BLESS EVERY GOOD WORK AT HILLDALE!
