Patty and Taylor Johnson, Jack and Mary Jones, Josh Liles, Brittany McMahan, Annamarie and Cheyenne Riggins, Jamie Settle, Ashley and Brandi Stewart, Sara Tucker and Brian, Michelle and Brayden Henegar. Hurricane Katrina was one of the most devastating storms our country has experienced. Everyone was impacted either directly or indirectly by this tremendous natural disaster. Our congregation has responded by sending our donations from the disaster relief fund a total of $37,000.00 to Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida congregations and the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief in Nashville. We sent the most recent donation of $5,000.00 with our courageous mission-team to the Tammany Oaks Church of Christ which has been a beacon for Christ's Church since the day of this monumental disaster. The Mandeville, Louisiana Church of Christ, consisting of approximately 200 members, has served as a disaster relief center since the day after the hurricane. Tammany Oaks opened their new building to house and feed evacuees and workers and have continued their efforts every day and night since that time. Our team of volunteers were graciously provided their meals and sleeping accommodations during their mission. We should continue to pray for that congregation and their wonderful work for the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58. "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” THANK YOU BROTHER BRIAN! This experience for these members will continue to be a blessing to this congregation and each member who willingly sacrificed and gave of themselves for this wonderful effort.
